b'OFFICE OF GLOBAL LEARNINGFACULTY GAINS THROUGH VIRTUAL EXCHANGEThanks to virtual exchange, UF faculty are expanding their international networks, collaborating with peers abroad to publish research on their VE projects, and exploring new international education opportunities for their students.In Summer 2022, two UF faculty - Dr. Tara Mathien from the College of Education and Prof. Megan Mocko from the Warrington College of Business - became the first to visit their VE partners in person, who were both located at Universidad San Francisco de Quito (USFQ) in Ecuador. The visit was a collaboration between OGL and the UF Center for Latin American Studies. Dr. Mathien is now planning a study abroad program with USFQ, and she and Prof. Mocko are both collaborating with their virtual exchange partners to publish and present research on their VE projects. Danielle received her B.A. in English with a minor in International Relations and a certificate in Global Black Studies from Florida International University in 2018. After graduation, Danielle joined the Peace Corps as a Secondary English teacher serving in Malawi from 2018-2019. She worked alongside community members to promote English learning and youth empowerment activities and trainings. After returning from service, Danielle served in AmeriCorps and earned her Master of Public Administration degree from Florida State University.Danielle is a law student at Levin College of Law at the University of Florida. As Floridas campus recruiter, she will work to promote Peace Corps through events and activities while serving as a resource for for those interested in applying.14 |Global Engagement Report 2023'
