Scholarships

Undergraduate scholarships and graduate fellowships are forms of aid that help students pay for their educations. Unlike loans, they do not have to be repaid. Scholarship criteria vary. Generally, scholarships and fellowships are reserved for students with special qualifications, such as academic, athletic or artistic talent. Awards are also available for students who are interested in particular fields of study, who live in certain areas of the country or who demonstrate financial need.

Many international students have come to us in search of financial aid so they may obtain their degree at the University of Florida. Unfortunately, there is very little financial aid available for foreign nationals to study in the U.S. Most grants, scholarships and loans from public and private sources are restricted to U.S. citizens. Some countries provide financial aid for their citizens to study in the U.S., and there may be some aid from the U.S. government for students from specific countries (no government student loans).
