Bobbi Stienmetz – UF Peace Corps campus-based recruiter
The International Center welcomes Bobbi Stienmetz as the new UF Peace Corps campus-based recruiter. Students, faculty, staff and the community as large are invited to stop by to meet Bobbi and to learn about Peace Corp opportunities. Bobbi is a counselor by training and served as Peace Corps volunteer in Costa Rica from 2006-2008.
UF Faculty is encouraged to contact her and set up classroom visits for the spring semester. The Peace Corps office is located at the UF International Center in the Hub (1765 Stadium Road, Suite 170). Bobbi will be on campus Tuesday through Thursday (9am-4pm), and will have office hours Tuesdays from 10am-12 noon, and by appointment.
Bobbi will also provide support to the UF Master’s International (MI) Program in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences and utilize the Returned Peace Corps Volunteers network to inform both the academic community and the general public about Peace Corps volunteer service opportunities and benefits. “My goal is to visit every nook and cranny of the campus by presenting to classes, participate in campus events, meet with student organizations, and mentoring those who may be already excited about Peace Corps service”, said Stienmetz.
Bobbi grew up on a farm and has the 4-H ribbons to show for it! She served with her husband in Peace Corps and the couple now has a 3 year old son.
