Exchange Programs

Exchange programs are created when reciprocal agreements are establish between a UF college and another institution in a foreign country. Reciprocal agreements involve a thorough review of the curriculum on both sides. Students are required to take a full academic course load during the exchange semester and the academic work should count toward degree.  For more information on Reciprocal Agreements, please click here.

UF Exchange Students (outbound students)

In an exchange program, UF students pay UF tuition and are assigned UF course equivalencies for the work they do abroad. Grades are factored into their UF GPA.

International Exchange Students (inbound/incoming students)

Exchange students coming to the University of Florida enter the U.S. on a J-1 non-immigrant visa. Participants in the J-1 Exchange Visitor Program are expected to return to their home countries when they complete their programs.
