UFIC New Faculty Bulletin - September 19, 2012

Dear New Faculty,

We have information on two items to share with you this month: Travel Information and Resources and the Study Abroad Fair.

TRAVEL INFORMATION
As you begin to settle into your departments and research programs, perhaps you will have the opportunity to plan international travel to conferences or as part of your teaching and research assignments. If so, I would like to encourage you to check out the Travel page on the International Center website (http://www.ufic.ufl.edu/Travel.html).

Here you will information and resources to help you with travel planning. UFIC provides 24-hour emergency contact, monitors international events and informs program participants of potential health and safety issues in their destination countries. Most importantly, UFIC administers an emergency evacuation and repatriation plan for faculty, staff and students travelling internationally on university business. This insurance coverage is provided by the Provost who requires all travelers to register for the TeamAssist Emergency Assistance program prior to each trip (http://www.ufic.ufl.edu/TravelRegistration.html).

STUDY ABROAD FAIR
In addition, this month UFIC hosts the Study Abroad Fair and I would like invite you to come out and visit the information tables, talk to faculty and staff who are leading study abroad programs and learn about these exciting opportunities both for you and your students. The Study Abroad Fair will be held on the Reitz Union Colonnade on Wednesday, September 16th, from 10am – 3pm and more information can be found on our website (http://www.ufic.ufl.edu/SAS/StudyAbroadFair.html).

I hope to see you at the Fair and look forward to discussing international opportunities with you as the semester progresses.
