b'Redefining campusINTERNATIONALIZATION through curricular and co-curricular initiativesOFFICE OF GLOBAL LEARNINGGLOBALEvery year, the Global Learning Institute equips faculty with tools to LEARNINGinternationalize their courses through engagement with campus resources, technology, and collaboration with other faculty members who share a INSTITUTE commitment to global learning. Upon completion of the program, faculty receive an award of $5,000 in professional development funds. The spring 2022 Global Learning Institute participants included a very select group of faculty members from a variety of disciplines. Despite their diverse disciplinary backgrounds, they all shared a strong commitment to helping UF students understand the complexities of a highly globalized world, and to function competently and responsibly in that context.BAHARCLAUDIA GANSER RYAN GOOD DANIEL JOHNSON AJ (AMY) JUNGARMAGHANIDepartment of AnimalSchool of NaturalSchool of Forest,Dial Center for Sustainability and theSciences,Resources andFisheries, andWritten and Oral Built EnvironmentCollege of AgriculturalEnvironment, Geomatics Sciences,Communication,Program, College ofand Life Sciences College of AgriculturalCollege of AgriculturalCollege of Liberal Design, ConstructionDr. Ganser hopes toand Life Sciences and Life Sciences Arts and Sciencesand Planning expand her courseDr. Good plans toDr. Johnson willDr. Jung will expand Professor ArmaghaniQuantitative Microbialinternationalizeenhance his Naturalher course Patterns will internationalizeRisk Assessment ofhis Economics ofResources Samplingof Intercultural her Green BuildingPathogens in FoodConservation coursecourse by bringingCommunication Strategies (LEED Lab)and Environmentalthrough experiencesin internationalto incorporate course to facilitateSystems by providingsuch as virtualresearchers to discussimmersive or learning about thea global perspective onexchanges, museumhow they sample theirexperiential causes and effects offoodborne illnesses. visits, and more. local ecosystems. components climate change, andand provide the ways to mitigateopportunities for it, on a personal, local, students to develop and global level. more meaningful connections.12U F INTERNATIONAL CENTER'
