b'INTERNATIONAL STUDENT SERVICESBRINGING OUTSTANDING TALENT FROM AROUND THE WORLDUFIC added the annual International Student Welcome Reception to its lineup of International Education Week events. New international students joined UFICs staff and faculty, and enjoyed a special visit from Albert & Alberta!International Student Services has had a year filled with remarkable experiences, growth, and continued unwavering support for our F-1 international students. From July 2023 to June 2024, we had the pleasure of assisting nearly 1,900 new students with their I-20 application processes, F-1 visa applications, travel preparations, check-in, and orientations. Our undergraduate and graduate orientations ensured all new students were well-prepared for the school year and ready to be welcomed into the Gator family!Our F-1 advisors dedicated over 2,000 hours to Virtual Office Hours, providing one-on-one advice and guiding students through immigration regulations, registration requirements, employment eligibility, CPT, OPT, and STEM OPT applications, travel requirements, SSN application issues, and more. We also organized new meet-and-greet socials between our F-1 Advisors and students and participated in UFICs first-ever community carnival.We are inspired by the resilience and achievements of our international students and aim to continue strengthening collaborations with campus departments involved in pre-arrival, orientation, academic support, career services, and other areas crucial to our students well-being and success.International Student Services remains committed to providing the support and resources needed to ensure our students success!In the coming academic year, we plan to introduce more innovative programs and services to further enrich our international students experience. We are grateful to our students and collaborating units for being an essential part of our community.
