World Citizenship Program
The World Citizenship Program (WCP) is coordinated by the University of Florida International Center. The University of Florida has partnered with non-governmental organizations such as, the American Red Cross, International Orthodox Christian Charities, World Vision, Mercy Corps, AirServ and Save the Children to impact our world.
Internships
Students work with Non-Governmental Organizations around the world on projects in education, health, economic stability, nutrition and agriculture. The internships are awarded with this mission statement in mind, "To help others less fortunate than ourselves to help themselves, to help improve the world we live in, and to benefit UF students with new international experiences."
Benefits
We encourage both graduate and professional students to apply for internships. The award includes travel to and from the internship site, a stipend to cover a percentage of living expenses, necessary immunizations, and medical emergency assistance/ evacuation insurance.
Application
Student selection takes place throughout the months of October and November. A brief orientation course for successful applicants is held in the spring of the following year. The Program's students then embark on their internships for three months during the Summer C period of the UF calendar year (May - August).
