Special Registration
Nonimmigrants subject to "special registration" are permitted to
depart the United States only through designated ports of departure, and they
must appear in person before an inspecting officer at the designated port prior
to departing. Some individuals subject to "special registration" who
failed to satisfy the special registration program's pre-departure-reporting
requirements before leaving the United States, have been turned away as they
tried to re-enter and had their visas cancelled.
