Selecting CIP code to describe the Subject/Field Code for the exchange visitor's proposed activity
When you open http://nces.ed.gov/pubs2002/cip2000/index.asp, click on "List CIP Codes by 2-digit series":
A new page opens with a drop-down menu listing the general categories for Subject/Field Codes:
Open the drop-down menu to select the appropriate category (Ex.: 14) Engineering) and click "GO":
A new page will open with the list of subject field codes for the selected category. Scroll down and choose the most appropriate code based in the activity to be performed by the exchange visitor:
Enter the Code and Title of the selected Subject/Field code on the Faculty Invitation form. Ex.:14.0101 Engineering, General
