Intercollegiate Athletics top>>
University of Florida men's and women's athletic teams participate in 20 sports. Men's competition is in baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, swimming and diving, tennis, indoor and outdoor track, while the women compete in basketball, cross-country, golf, gymnastics, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, tennis, indoor and outdoor track, and volleyball.
Athletic facilities include the 83,000 seat Florida Field (nicknamed "the Swamp"), a baseball stadium, a track and field stadium, two football practice fields, and the Stephen C. O'Connell Center, which houses a 12,000 seat basketball arena, an indoor track, swimming pool and diving tank, and gymnastics area.
Students can attend most of the spring sports for free. These include Gymnastics, Men's and Women's Basketball, Track, Softball, Soccer, Swimming, Tennis, Golf, Baseball and Volleyball. The only requirement for entry is the Gator 1 ID card.
Gator Football season starts in August and ends in late November. For football, a reduced-priced student ticket ($7.00) can be purchased to attend the game if it is not sold out. For a schedule of the fall season, visit: http://www.gatorzone.com/

Division of Recreational Sports top>>
The purpose of the Division of Recreational Sports is to provide an opportunity for students, faculty and staff to participate in an athletic or recreation activity on a voluntary basis. The Division of Recreational Sports is comprised of five areas: Intramurals, Fitness Centers, Lake Wauburg, Sports Clubs, and Open Recreation. Students, faculty, and staff may use all facilities, including the Florida Gym and tennis courts.

Intramurals are teams that practice regularly and compete against other teams on a scheduled basis. UF's Intramural Sports Program is supported by student government and is free to all current students.

There are more than 40 sport clubs to choose from at UF. Some clubs compete against other teams throughout the Southeast and others are more instructional with an emphasis on social interaction. Student Recreation and Fitness Centers top>>

Two recreation centers are available for student use. The Student Rec. and Fitness Center is located on the main campus next to the Infirmary. The Southwest Rec. Center is located on the southwest side of campus, on the corner of Hull Road. and Bledsoe Drive. Both centers offer:
- Strength and conditiong rooms for weight training and cardiovascular workouts
- Gatorobics: a variety of aerobic classes are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis. Check the website for schedules.
- Racquet Courts: available for racquetball, wallyball and squash. Reservations can be made one day in advance by calling 392-0581 ext. 3.
To participate, students must bring their Gator 1 card and a towel. Sleeveless shirts or tank tops are NOT permitted.
Swimming Pools top>>
There are four swimming pools on campus for recreational swimming. Gator 1 cards are required to use the Florida Pool (next to the Florida Gym), the O’Connell Center, and Graham and Broward residence hall pools. Operating hours vary for each facility.
Lake Wauberg top>>
Lake Wauberg is the University of Florida's outdoor recreation area. Sailing,
windsurfing, swimming, canoeing, fishing, picnicking, sunning, and sand volleyball
are examples of the many activities available at no cost to students, faculty
and staff. The two parks in Lake Wauberg are open year round and are located
approximately eight miles south of campus on US 441 (SW 13th Street). Both
parks are now handicapped accessible in most areas. To make reservations
