Writing a Recommendation

As a recommender, your feedback is important to us in determining the eligibility of the student for the program to which he/she is applying.  We would like to know more about your experiences working with the student as well as your understanding of the student’s capacity to succeed in a study abroad program.  In your recommendation, please write a few paragraphs addressing the student’s background, highlighting the following issues:

  1. In what capacity and for how long have you known the student?
  2. Do you recommend the student to study abroad?  Why or why not?
  3. How would you describe the student’s maturity and preparation, including academic, for an overseas program?
  4. Do you have any concerns about the student’s participation in this program?
  5. Any additional comments you choose to share would be greatly appreciated.
